It's not really hard to use.

It is hard to learn for this reason: information on using it is spread out all over the place.

I'd advise getting "Animating With Blender" by D. Roland Hess. It's a pretty good book that gives you most of the essentials. It is possible to find information on anything that you're trying to do, but you might have to look a couple of places before you find it. 2 Reasons to learn it:

1. It's FREE!
