Black cats are often overlooked by would-be adopters and many of them remain in our care for longer than others. This is why we have decided to hold a Black Cat Awareness Day on Thursday 27 October.

I'd 3 tiny kittens left on doorstep. Rang RSPCA who came nxt day to take kittens away when I was working. Partner said officer said they'd be taken to holding place then "well, nobody wants black cats so..."? Got straight on phone next day but couldn't locate them! Rang everywhere till officer located em n rang to see if I wanted them back.Smallest went next day to good friend n other 2 stayed 10 days b4 they went 263 miles away to a good friend. They're spoiled rotten now 4 months later :]:]

Black cats are beautiful we have Jet 6/7 years old, and we just adopted Chloe from CPL last weekend, both loving and beautiful cats, give black cats a chance!

Black cats are the most lovely cats,i had one called Jessie who was a lovely boy and lived till he was eighteen ,and now we have a rescue cat called Pippa who loves human contact and is a beautiful, playful cat,she is five.Please give a black cat a home :D

@Sewcoolwash I don't think it's silly wives tales the ridiculous myth came from, I think it was more from those jerks who killed smart women and called them witches, also when they'd burn millions of kitties-talk about building horrible karma. Since before then and every where else in the world, black cats are known to be extremely good luck and are coveted for it.

This is brilliant! Black cats are the best! We just lost our lovely little chap who we have had since he was 6 weeks. As he no longer needs us, we will soon be providing a loving home for another little black cat.
