KD's Last Stand : 'Pathologically Mendacious'

Few things in Jamaican politics have entertained me as much as the theatrics at the recent Manatt Commission of Enquiry.

From the courtroom antics to the Clovis comics, the whole thing has had me stealing Wi-Fi anytime the drama has been broadcast on the Internet. On March 31, however, the closing remarks of former Minister of Security KD Knight to Prime Minister Bruce Golding made me spew coffee out my nose as I watched the proceedings live from cafe in Brooklyn.

Perhaps it was the way he drew out those last words. It reminded me of an old schoolteacher I once had who would grit her teeth, narrow her eyelids and then tear into this frightening mashup of patois and uptown vernacular with a hint of some wayward British condescension. While it was always hilarious, nobody dared laugh.

The fact of the matter is that KD should have - even if he doesn't respect Bruce Golding, the man - respected the Office of Prime Minister...Had Portia Simpson-Miller been in Bruce's shoes that day, there is no way she would have tolerated being spoken to this way and there is no way the person lambasting her the way KD did with Bruce, would have gotten away with it...I think Patrick Atkinson behaved much more professionally than KD when both their cross-examinations of Golding are compared.

Dr Peter Phillips didn't decieve the people of this country when he signed over rights to foreign governments without their knowledge???You know what KD Knight can only behave like this because Jamaican people doesn't read or listen to details!!!!I'm definately not going down with them!!!!

@Maxantium who would respect an office headed by bruce golding ......... he is a disgrace to my country....The only honourable thing he can do now is pack up and leave. The party witnesses have been extremely evasive throughout the enquiry.
