  • Hmmm no. In breakdancing class, we all stretch our wrists like this. It is not pointless. Research before you guys come on here making judgments

  • Be very careful when you stretch your wrists. As someone with a wrist injury, I felt it important to mention that over-stretching can cause MAJOR problems. This girl has unusually flexible wrists. Please do not push past the point of discomfort or pain. The idea is to slowly increase painfree movement.

  • @VeradoonKing 1/ Just give me the exact reason you think it's important to stretch wrists before exercising ? No study has never proved that stretching before exercising reduces the risk of injuries.

    In fact my gymnasts don't stretch before training (or just fast and personalised stretching for some) and they never have any issue with that.

    2/ What you need to do for joints is put pressure progressively on them, so the cartilages absorb synovial liquid and get ready to handle chocks and weight.

  • so, if i got this right, basically, as long as you dont feel real discomfort or pain in your wrist while doing whatever it is you wanna do (handstands, planches etc), you're good?

  • I recently learned how to spin fire with a 5' staff, and I've become absolutely addicted to practicing. But I can already tell my wrists are getting progressively more sore by the week.

    As a former cross country runner, I know that just as running injuries happen as a result of not stretching, so to do injuries happen in fire spinning as a result of not stretching.

    So I hopped on YouTube looking for a good rountine, and *BAM* - I found this!
