@Nihilanth1982 what was it

If you just graduated and cannot find a job, you'll have to do an internship. In some cases you will have to travel to get that internship. From there you can gain experience and a chance to work for that employer. It is nearly impossible to work directly at a firm especially if you didn't graduate from MIT.

I graduated from the University of St Andrews. My degree turned out to be absolutely worthless and completely useless.

@zjones1222 Why? Because illegal immigrants are willing to work for a much lower wage. In my experience most of them are honest, hardworking people who send money back to Mexico to support families. They're doing what they must to support their families. I live in WA were most agricultural workers are illegal. There are not nearly enough American teenagers WILLING to bust their humps in the heat for low wage to supply that industry. American teenagers feel entitled to have it easy.

@florinated that is so true. the power of connection is such stronger than your degree. there has been various studies on this.

@zjones1222 Lol tell me about it, I live in Phoenix. I'm not racist at all and I can understand why they come to work, but I have been getting very irritated lately hearing people speaking Spanish in jobs that I can't even get cos there are 10 of them there. What ya gonna do tho = (

@MstrMnd420 English should be national language just in my opinion. Immigrants are not my concern more so than watching an industry change normally worked by teens that want to work those jobs to gain experience. If, I fall on my butt it would nice to walk into low skilled job and just work there. Honestly, I just don't feel comfortable around people that mainly speak Spanish. I am in Texas by the way, most low skilled jobs are taken anyway.

@zjones1222 = ( I met a good man at school going for Xray tech, we became good friends and He had his IT degree. He was making $36 an hour until he got layed off. Now he is in the same position as I am with an IT degree and an Xray tech cirtification.. It is horrible. Reminds me of that book I saw. If you want to get Rich! Don't go to college! I wish I would have listened to the book and stayed working at Holiday gas station. LOL > = (

I graduated in 1994 with a degree in engineering, and it is no different now than it was then. It is a catch-22 ... you can't get a job without experience and you can't get experience without a job. Sometimes employers will give new grads a chance but rarely during a recession. You aren't taught that at university!
