  • @521856 Take it up with Mozart, he wrote it.

  • This production is just fantastic...wish I had the DVD. Seems like a PERFECT introduction for children to opera and the beauty of Mozart. Thanks for posting

  • @adhrianuss If you think this is bad/weird, they were even worse about changing operas in 18th century Europe. That includes replacing or changing the music/plot, let alone translating it to a different language. It was just as much about profit as it is today haha

  • @521856 Listen to it in the original German. The English lyrics sound crass.

  • Quello che mi fa veramente incazzare, è che la questione linguistica italiano tedesco era vera.

Arrivano questi ignoranti che non hanno voglia di leggere una traduzione, e fanno il flauto magico in inglese.

    Da cancellare....

  • @sumimasent

oh yes, you understand Mozart better than Levine, you can sing like these pair or even better, and you think my friends will watch you keeping up Mozart's heritage howling in a foreign language. long shot, dude. come back to earth.

  • @Addy19432 Mozart actually wrote it in German (the vernacular for his audience) because he wanted the people watching to be able to understand what was going on in the story. I hardly consider it a crime against the arts to make art more accessible to a wider audience.

  • oh come on .. r u serious ??? ... this belongs to germany just like mozart himself ... never say he was austrian !!!!!!!!!!! to translate it into another language is a crime against the arts ....

  • NEIN!!!! Es musst in Deutsch sein! :PPPPPPPP

  • omg this translation is fuckin terrible!!!!!!
