@rajaboy He lived near me and I saw him once! He got very pleased when I used to see him on screen and say -Parkin friend" Apparently! I was only small at the time!

Amazing to think that the only way to get news was in these bulletins long before the twenty four hour news channels. Great music . I met the late Leonard Parkin in Pickering in the mid Eighties ,lovely man.

Leonard Parkin was definelty the man & my favourite reader. Everytime I come home 4 lunch from school the theme & himself was like a welcoming to kids more than adults.

ITV News is just terrible now. Whenever there is a "sad story" the presenters look like they are going to burst into tears. Why not just tell the news without trying to turn everything into a soap opera?
