In tandem songs mighty Lata ji lags behind her male counterparts,though sung flawlessly,she looses out to Talat saab,who was no match to her vocal prowess.Sometimes 'uniqueness' in the voice plays a vital role & goes ahead.

all the songs of aashiyana were very melodious. In my opinion it is the best film of Madanmohanji though the film was a big flop in spite of stars like Rajkapoor & Nargis.The music though was far superior to Do Bhai,Woh Kaun Thi & Mera saya which were a few of Madan mohanji's hits.

the first time i got to notice the songs of ashiana was when i bought the hmv cassette of tarana . the second side of the cassette had ashiana songs . i think that was the first time i came to know the name of this movie and heard the songs . i was surprised to find that all the songs of ashiana were very melodious . this is one of those gems ! thanks.
