i'd love to buy the volt. but if some other companies are making their own plug-in hybrid i'll buy from them (perhaps toyota) why? coz i remember how General Motors (General Morons for some) crushed 'BRAND NEW ELECTRIC VEHICLES'. if anyone else is interested wats the documentary "WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?". we had electric cars in our hands and we fought to keep 'em but they chose to crush those eco/wallet friendly cars and came up with HUMMER. . . WAT A WASTE
Lithium is as old as the EV1, It is not a new technology, and the unstable ions have been grounded succsessfully via ferrite doping. And the manufacturing costs are cheaper and safer than that of PbA. So, why is it they are still trying to sell us 1990 battery technology at premium prices? The volt is a great idea, lets hope that dream becomes a reality.
You know how GM keeps saying that the battery is the problem. And all those vids that show the Volt driving around. And it makes the weirdest loudest noise. I think they can't even find good engineers to make the electric motor or put all the electric compoents together properly. Since so many people heard about the EV-1 and Cobasys NiMH battery. I bet all the good engineers wouldn't work for GM. So they ended up hiring retards to put the Volt together. Thats why it is taking so long.
If GM's only source of income were from electric hybrids like the Chevy Volt, they'd be making millions of them. "Stop buying or leasing NEW gasoline powered cars". See my vids.
GM sold battery patents to the oil company? why?
because GM is not serious about electric cars
the Volt is way too late and your bankrupt without taxpayer holding up your ass

Lithium is the next target on GM's EV assassination list.

I wonder if this is just a way for them to get main stream attention, without actually selling an electric car.

but the problem is... can we afford the price?

Nanotechnology will have the ultimate answer where the battery power may sustain enough of a charge to keep the road vehicles running sufficiently.
