A Second World War veteran has tackled anti-capitalist protesters camped outside St Paul's Cathedral in London over fears the demonstration will impede his regiment's efforts to mark Remembrance Sunday. Wally Harris, a 91-year-old former Rolls-Royce mechanic from Bracknell, Berkshire, is concerned his City of London regiment will not be able to parade around the churchyard on November 13. The veteran fought on Gold Beach in Normandy on D-Day and was part of the force that liberated Brussels. His efforts were honoured with the military medal for gallantry. He said: "I thought as I was in London and it's close to my heart, I wanted to talk to them to see what their intention is to use the space on Remembrance Sunday. Haven't they got any respect for what happened all those years ago? A million people lost their lives. Can't they move their tents to allow us to parade?
If 'Sister' Ruth and George Barda had any idea, understanding or respect for what Wally Harris and his Brothers did, they would not think twice about getting out of the way on Sunday, it's for people like Wally that allows them to protest, so if you are reading this I suggest "small city" or not you pack up your tents for a day, these guys freed whole nations, which is something you could never achieve.

Will there be an update to this story? It's disgusting to just think that there is a possibility that the Soldier's who fought for these protesters right to do so have their day of recognition stripped from them as result of this!

Don't worry. Countrymen ran at machine guns and through hails of bullets but moving your tent is so much effort isn't it. I think they should forcibly remove them so the veterans and the rest of the country can have the traditional parade!
