too much water??

I really like this soap. I find that you only need to swirl the brush for around 10 seconds though, or the lather takes a hell of a lot of water to get right.

That lather is not ready yet, it has many bubbles. You need to shake more and a little bit more of water to get a smooth lather (without bubbles)

not the soap version.......... cream!

try taking about half gallon of water outta that later. geez

Quit wasting the water, it's precious ya know

Hey Toxic, the razor shaves great now, turns out I was understropping it. By the way, thanks for inspiring me to learn how to shave with, and maintain a straight razor. !!! End the tyranny of Gillete!!! ...sorry, inner revolutionay coming out, I thought I had ditched that in college

I use the Eucalyptus version of this, I use a small enamelled bowl and a lot less soap, the lather gets really thick, although the lather tends to break down in the bowl by the time I get to my third pass.
You already made the lather, it's completely pointless to use a mug after that

@themanitasdeplomo I use the mug so that I can rest the brush in it and add water as needed, rather than trying to do so in a tub of soap.

Hi , I am having a little trouble with my Dovo 5/8" basic model razor, the front third of the blade ( towards the toe) doesn't seem to want to take , or hold a really razor edge. I am using an 8000 grit Norton water stone as my final hone and Veritas honing compound with a paddle strop, the heel of the blade takes a beautiful edge so I don't think it is the honing compound I am using. Could it be that the heat treatment of the blade is off? Or is it my technique?

@ZenSpider40 The heat treatment could be off, but I doubt it. That seems like something that would be more likely to effect the entire razor. it's possible your razor may have a slight bow or warp, or that your hones aren't totally flat, so the razor isn't being honed evenly. It may also be your technique. It's tough to say without seeing any of the stuff.
