  • Excellent animation. I would like to comment also. Perhaps T rex actually walked upright-like a crow or a rook does when walking on the ground scavenging for food etc- rather than horizontally? As a suggestion, why not curve the tail vertebra more upwards- a third outwards from the pelvic bone area. Then tilt the whole skeleton upwards by about 50 degrees. The femur should then pulled back near vertical. Make the neck an S shape and the head will become more level ;) Try walking T rex now!

  • @dali366

    Hello Dali366,

Thank you so much for your comments. You make some good points, that would curving the tail upward a bit and tilting the skeleton a bit would strengthen the silhouette quite a bit. I shall re-animate him sometime and try out your suggestions! :D

    Again, thank you!

  • Nice work man!

Slightly too much overlap on head. The left foot FREEZES after it lands.

(Wish I had a fulltime job I could afford to hire and pay you for)

  • @jpanim8r

Wow! I didn't even see that freeze till you mentioned it. I seriously need to get new glasses or something for missing that. I'll check my curves, there's probably a small hold there. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll clean the overlap too! :D

I appreciate that you would be willing to even hire me if you could. I've always had this fear that no one would want to hire me. :p

  • .....Just to add, trex head would have likely bobbed back and forth (like a crow etc does when walking on the ground) and I believe the tail would have swayed from side to side- rather than flipping up and down.

  • ...if you freeze that horse position and then remove the head and upper body slightly (so that it becames shorter and the same relative length as a Trex) then start from that position :) The way Trex walks now all the weight is too forward-he may as well have four legs! By walking upright the animal was naturally finding it's centre of gravity :) Experiment :) Good luck...I look forward to seeing your new animation sometime!

  • @AdmiralRa No problem thanks! I believe everyone ATM is making Trex walk like a horizontal see -saw fashion because the scientists say so but I think it better to experiment and try a more natural pose. Trex had a very heavy head and like most birds today, they always hold their heads up high to help find the centre of gravity. When horses rear up, they momentarily have an upright pose but because they are quadruples (and longer bodies) they have to come back down again! cont...

  • Very good!
