Odyssey of the Mind World Finals: 1st Place & Ranatra: Le Tour Guide, Div III, Upper St Clair

Odyssey of the Mind World Finals 2011 at the University of Maryland! Problem 3 division 3! Upper St Clair High School: Pittsburgh, Pa. First place and Ranatra Fusca Award Winners! :) We worked very hard and we are so proud of what we've accomplished! YAY!
Pippi Longstocking must go on a quest to save her childhood before the "childhood pirates" come and steal it away! Her father reveals to her that she must find three items from her past in order to recapture the whimsy, fearlessness, and perspective of youth! In the end, when it seems as if the Pirates finally have her beat, Pippi learns something important from someone surprising! Watch to find out the end! :)

We competed at World Finals with your team last week (Quest Homeschool; 3rd place). I enjoyed watching your performance....and Pippi didn't even get injured on your amazing set! Congratulations on 1st place and your Ranatra Fusca!

@WildCrazyDancinGirl aw man that sounds awful! at my school any team can choose any problem, even if every team ended up doing the same one! haha but you'll make it this year :) GOOD LUCK!

@cirqueUSC And it also really sucked because we were told we would get Tour Guide, and we started planning our skit... We practically finished the script before they gave us the problem (They gave it to us three weeks late!) We were so proud of our script because every one had done hours of research, but then when we got our problem and it wasn't what were promised... the one we wanted the least, no one wanted to do it any more. Three people dropped out and siblings had to fill in.

@cirqueUSC Well what we get to put an order of how we want the problems. Then say three teams wanted "To be or Not to Be' then they would be put in a hat and drawn out. Last year we got stuck with our least favorite because we kept having to go down the list and never one untill the last one. Therefor, you don't really want to work super hard on the problem. And cool! I'll have to wait 1 more year though, THEN make it to world...

@WildCrazyDancinGirl do you di it in school or something where you are assigned to a problem? our team got to choose one! haha and yesss.. the starting guy was hilarious and super friendly! (helped calm the nerves) apparently he does Div 3 classics at worlds every year cause my brother had him in 2010
