Both of you are totally right, we've been workig on it since. If you look at the videos made on the last champs (2009-2008), we improved lots in latin dance according to many people.

I agree with Tinkerbellame regarding the shoulders. To increase your range of movement in the faster tempos I would suggest an Afro-Cuban and African approach - shoulder jerks, shimmies, etc.
Otherwise, funkiness all 'round.

Love your interpretation of the music!!!! I'm in a wheelchair as well, but I've never done ballroom...only ever done ballet. I would personally do more with my shoulders, to add more to it, and keep the beat, add some pazaz, but I love the different movements you did! Nice form! :)
