Varney's comment says more about him than it does about capitalism. It's not that difficult to treat your employees well and still be a very successful company in a capitalist society. Costco's John Singleton has been running his company like that for years, and its worked out very well for him and his employees. Same can be said for Whole Foods. Varney's characterization is disturbing and ignores the diversity of thought in the business world.

Totally agree. Have zero idea, from this interview, what the book is about.

I do not recall any other interview (with the exception of ALL the interviews Hannity does) beginning with a "credential" check. I would assume those were done before the interview was granted.

So basically... he studied business but never participated in any form of business. Another ivy leager in his tower. Capitalism IS alll about competition. Culture has very little to do with the success of a business. Supply and demand is a basic concept that probably even Dave here can understand. When consumers want a particular product or service the success of the business largely depends on whether they will capitalize on that demand by supplying those specific products. Competition ensues..
