  • @cchanderson ...

just because they don't paint interior of their vehicles.

Soviets/Russians never cared about design and interior paintings (except of combat aircraft where it does matter). Soviets tankers in WWII, who fought with Shermans, could say two good things about it... "It was beautiful from inside, having all walls painted white... And soft seats".

  • @cchanderson You may believe whatever you want... but not believe live footage is kinda stupid. They say, 1 picture worths 1000 words. There are many videos from live fire drills and from actual wars and conflicts Russian AA systems intercepting all kind of aerial targets. But again... you may believe that they are not capable at anything at all. I am sure it is even better for them.

But I am sure that people at Pentagon are smarter than you, and they won't underestimate any possible enemy

    ...

  • @billyjoel22359 Not from same direction...

If you fire two rounds or two missiles from same source within a second, no APS can stop the second round/missile, including Trophy.

Actually this is the way of development for defeating APS. Infantry and vehicle based KORNET and Khrizantema tank killer can do that already. They attack same target with 2 missiles fired one after another with small delay.

  • @warfighter285 That's why APS don't aim for sabot rounds. They are not targets for APS. Sabots are usually stopped only by ERA + main armor... or not stopped :)

However... soft-kill system actually can brake aim from enemy tank before it fires its sabot. Before firing, gunner must use laser rangefinder. Soft-kill system has laser sensors. If they detect illumination by laser beam, they launch smoke grenades, which scatter laser beam and cover the tank from enemy sights behind smoke screen.

  • @RaptorDiablo He meant APS - Active Protection Systems.

  • @BitnikGr

The Rafale Trophy APS for Israeli Merkava tanks can defeat multiple simultaneous threats.

  • @warfighter285 but, this is not a APC. Even though i agree.

  • @tonygogap -

Abrams armor is only good in frontal arc (but not the best in the world). Meanwhile sides of body and turret are vulnurable even to 20mm APFSDS rounds and 30mm AP rounds. It has only 30mm RHA armor on sides (without ERA), which is twice less than even old Soviet tanks with 70-80mm RHA on sides. (without ERA)

  • @tonygogap "Abrams can go on any terrain," - Thank you for this joke. You made me laugh :))) With ground pressure 1.1, Abrams CANNOT go on any terrain! Abrams was sinking in soft sand of central and northern Iraq, that's why it was forced to use roads and that's why it has many casualties because of planted IEDs.

Neither it can go on moist sand and tropical jungles.

  • @BitnikGr Abrams can go on any terrain, has better armor and better electronics. Abrams for the win,
