@232drago You have to understand that tortoise are not very social animals. Unless they are going to mate, two tortoises don't have much business being around each other. In addition, they can be very territorial, and they know that his/her counterpart might start attacking because of this motive. I think your two tortoises are being cautious.

@Demrush my turtle was shy when I first got him, when you have them more and more, that shyness will go away, just give them some time. (mine took about two months to loss the shyness.

hey my wood made enclousure is 3 feet and 5 inches long the width is 1 foot 10 inches its this tall 1 foot 2 inches tall is it big for my rt? the rt is 6 inches long 4 inches wide its a male is it big for it? it has half a log play sand and bark wood bedding mix wich is about 3 inches tall a skinny water dish a lid for food dish a siber tooth with sand and wood on it so it could bathe in the uvb light im thinkign of gettign a red foot tortise or another rt or i shoudnt get another one?

@Demrush I have problems with myn as well. I got it from PetCo a week ago and I can still return it as it hasn't been 15 days. I purchased another and the new ones is better as it's not shy at all. Maybe the creator of this video can help us out on how he gets his turtle to do this?

That tortoise has an easy fucking life. Gets to sleep all day in a comfy place, become a youtube celebrity and eat delicious foodz (for a tortoise). If there is reincarnation, I think I know what I wanna be if I fail the nirvana test

I bought my Russian Tortoise from Petco about 8 months ago and have been having shyness problems with him since. I don't know if it's because he was wild caught or how the store treated him but I can't walk anywhere past his tub without him pushing all his air out and retracting his head.

I hand feed him sometimes and let him wander around my living room a few times a week.

Is it in their nature to be that cautious or did my little fellow have a bad upbringing?

my Russian totrtoise does eat out of my hand, but it prefferes when I just put her food down in her cage.
