I went for the Z5P with the memory card unit. I like the idea of backing up to tape on a "never again" shoot.

I wonder how much those costs? I want one!

@AsianPersuasionDude a prototype is like a "test build". This means that it may or may not be the finished product. It is like the "beta" version.

Sincerely, I don't see any differences -except they swiitched from magneto to solid-state- between the HVR-Z5 and this cam.
Capture time does not worth hundreds of dollars unless you're on a rush.
Yes, I am dissapointed. I got a DVCAM 5 years ago and in less two years it will be useless. At least, Betacam lasted 15+ years.
Sony should sell this cam actually as the state-of-art domestic cam, but not a pro tool by nowadays standards.

@bunkofurko
well, the details are available now on the NX5U. A solid camcorder, in my opinion. Let's get it!

The Sony NXCAM "Prime" IS BASED on Z5. They added a few new things but sadly taken other options out, like shot transition and some color correction. But this was the prototype. Maybe they added back the options on the finished product.
