Aequorea victoria, also sometimes called the crystal jelly, is a bioluminescent hydrozoan jellyfish (which are also known as hydromedusae) that is found off the west coast of North America.
Not sure of the specifics but I'm doing some research on it: I think this is the normal colour of the jellyfish. It has the ability to flash blue light from its cells The GFP protein absorbs light of blue wavelength, which makes it emit green light.
