  • man I think it has the perfect tone. It sounds like the 40's recordings to me when everyone cranked theire heads down as tight as possible and had those thin pre-war bridges. its the only one I've ever played that sounded remotely close to the mercury recordings of Flatt & Scruggs

  • @Banjerman07 Sounded like the head was WAY too tight and just didn't do anything to me at all. I've played several original 5's that were way different and much better than that. I have played some that were awful too. Not a good sound at all...assuming he can pull tone...that has a lot to do with it too.

  • That banjo sounds perfect and this fellow is driving as good as it gets . I have been listening to this music for 60 plus years I pay little attention to these people hung up on pre war bull.

  • that thing has no tone at all to be an origional PW flathead.

  • tyler is one of the best banjo pickers at the fiddlers convention this year keep up the great work
