@ScottfromTexas 'Keep your pecker up' is a very old saying, I think it has more to do with chickens and your chin or beak than the American term 'pecker', the Beeb wasn't that bawdy even in the eighties!

@Newworldman66 I agree to a point. I just think you have to wait for good comedy to appear. With new Labour there has been a moratorium on good cutting satire like Not the Nine O'Clock News, or Saturday Night Live. You can debate whether Ali G or The Inbetweeners is good comedy, but perhaps it's a generational thing.

One of my all time favorite comedies. The local PBS station ran it years ago but I had never forgotten it.
