Excellent vid! These survival/bushcraft skills should be teached to all kids at school, some kind of 'outdoors' class, afterall this can save lives.

Prepared children are the future of this world. These skills are going to be asked of all of us at some point in coming century.
These children are going to be extremely well prepared.
A+ Father (and mother of course!)

Very important video for my friends in Brazil to understand. They live in the mountains at an altitude of about 3000 feet, and their seasons are the opposite of here. It gets down to 60 F at night now, but it will get down to 30 soon. They bought a 4 meter by 8 meter polyester tarp($400!!!!!) and have made a shelter with it now. Some NGOs(non-government organizations) are now offering some food aid to the church where they also stay, but it is not nearly enough. The church is not heated.

Now will the leaves work better if you crush them up into smaller pieces, say the size of down? I'm thinking it might make smaller pockets of air that would be heated more quickly...But its just an Idea off the top of my head...Great video tho brother!

I don't know the answer to that... It may work.. but it will also compress the leaves.. making them lose some of the insulation under the weight. Try it both ways and let us know Bro! Thanks for the comment!

The same couldnt be done with wet leaves I assume? I havent went through all your videos yet, but is there a video covering wet climates?

Wet leaves will work as well.. Anyting that will add an insulative layer to your body. You do need to be careful that you don't get your clothing soaked.. as this could abet hypothermia setting in.
As for wet weather videos.. we have some that we have done in the Missouri "rainforest" season... LOL! For example look at Handdrill success.. Thanks for your support!

@widerstand
I used to deliver papers when I was about 15.. Many cold days my hands were kept warm by putting them in the middle of the stack of papers! Great tip Wider
