Baby Collin was diagnosed with a heart defect at 3 weeks old and needed surgery right away to save his life. Following his surgery, he became a patient in Phoenix Children's PICU for the next 3 months.
While Collin's mom, Audra, is grateful for the specialty care of her child, she was also comforted by the staff who were there to take care of her family.
With a total of 40 beds staffed by 12 pediatric intensivists and nearly 200 nursing and ancillary staff, the The Sybil B. Harrington Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Phoenix Children's Hospital is not just the largest pediatric critical care unit in the Southwest, but one of the largest in the country. It is also uniquely prepared to serve Arizona's most critically ill or injured children.
