The mistake these actresses make when playing Marilyn or rather trying to, is to make her so soft to gutless Marilyn had edge and spunk and vitality.

@RideHanna I agree she looks nothing like Marilyn, but it's the best Marilyn voice I've heard. I haven't seen the new movie that came out with Michelle Phillips playing the role of Marilyn. Although she is a great actress I just can't see her in that role,but she won a Golden Globe.

Wasn't sure at first... but she made me believe. Has the sweetness down... now waiting for the sultry siren to pop out. They captured the mood of the 40's here quite well. Felt the same about Mira Sorvino... some scenes very good. It's called suspension of disbelief. And if the drama is good enough & the script is engaging the cob webs of doubt are pulled back & you can enjoy.

I would rather have a great actress potray Marilyn than someone who looked exactly like her and couldnt act their way out of a paper bag. LOL! Catherine did a phenomenal job. The best "Marilyn" by far.
