@BaggyOz Let me break it down another way in case that wasn't simple enough
Plane + More passengers = less emissions per passenger.
Regardless of the small overhead for the weight of the seat.
-
@BaggyOz Why? "Not only that the but the extra seats gained from getting rid fo first class adn replacing them with economy seats would increase the weight on the plane and thus increase emissions from the plane"
Heavier plane..... With more paying customers..... If each seat is economically viable to begin with.... Then the overall effect is an efficiency gain.
Are we really going over and over this ridiculous clarification to a dumb statement?
-
@mryellow123 Why are you mentioning economy seats paying their weight? That has nothing to do with the end result of heavier planes producing more emissions.
-
@BaggyOz saw that coming, if there was no demand for the 1st class seat then there would be 2-3 more seats in it's place. As for weight increase, I'm sure economy seats pay their weight. If seats cost more to transport then the passenger pays then every single fully booked flight would be losing money. Sure the airline industry is dead, but not that dead.
Simply pointing out that there is actually a higher cost on those seats, not a point worth arguing.
-
@mryellow123 Actually thats incorrect. That seat woudl of been bought regardless. Bob Brown choosing a first class seat did not mean that suddenly he was putting out more carbon. Not only that the but the extra seats gained from getting rid fo first class adn replacing them with economy seats would increase the weight on the plane and thus increase emissions from the plane.
