You hit me in the head
And as the pieces of my skull scatter,
You scatter my thoughts
Do you not?

You hit me in the mouth
And you still do not hear anything but the reflection of freedom from my squished tongue and broken teeth

You break my legs
But I am still standing
And you do not hear anything but the sounds of the basis of your government, breaking apart
Can you hear it?

You tie my hands
And I look at my "own self", instead of staring at the sky
I do not attempt to pray
and I do not wait for a miracle
You fear the God that I have created
Do you not?

With tear gas, you burn my eyes
You have forgotten that these eyes have gotten used to tears, for thirty years
Thirty years of tears.
Thirty years is a long time

And you know very well that every time I burned a fire throughout these years, it was because I had to.
You hide me under the ashes!
I am the child of fire, I am of the plutonic ancestry
Don't you know that??
You do!!

Where are we? Where does love live?
Where does this road end? Who broke the pitcher of wine? We did Yes, it was us.
Is there an "us" other than you and me?

We all know
With an abundance of evidence that all has been bitter for us
We try and we attempt at turning it sweet
We look in each others' eyes,
And we promise one another
Tthat as long as we live
We will hold each others' hands
And if we find the opportunity to dance,
We shall dance forever
Dancing is illegal!!!! No Dancing??!!!

We will share and follow our steps
And we will laugh out loud, not at each other, as we did in our childhood
But with each other
We will become eternal painters and we will paint the rain
Let the musicians play the daf... See More
And pour water everywhere.
And applaud
We must wash it off, we must wash it all
Pour water everywhere

Let's pour the water again
And laugh out loud, not at each other
Let's recite a green poem and paint the spring
And take the children to a party of a legend
Or let's be a hero like "Hossein Kord Shabestar" was
Or go to Baghdad like the Forty Thieves
Or dedicate our lives to gaining wisdom, as did "Ali Mardan Khan"

Or go to the jungle as Robin Hood did
Or we can become a cartoon on a CD
And laugh out loud, not at each other, but with each other

Let's write poetry as "Saadi" did and let's paint a garden
Or at least, let's build big, as big as the city
We can live our excellence
As long as we don't give in to vices
The vice can be left alone

We can all stay together
And eliminate the "bad"
We can paint Iran, only if we do it NOW
And laugh out loud, not at each other, but with each other
Just like when kindness was good... See More
We can paint Iran, only if we do it NOW

You hit me in the head?
You hit me in the mouth?
You break my legs?
You tie my hands?
You burn my eyes?
You hide me under the ashes?

We can paint Iran, only if we do it NOW
