The Colorado makes an excellent example for this situation.Farmers in Southern California have learned to use less wastefull versions of irrigation.Idahoan farmers should take notes.Using less water can actually lead to higher crop yields---i.e. more money and a sustainable industry...Saving the Snake River doesn't have to mean running the farmers of Idaho out of business.

look at the Colorado,it is no longer reaching the ocean in most years,one of the rivers jobs is to deliver sediment and nutrients among other things,the more we dam and extract water for crops the more the rivers health is put in jeopardy.we must find ways to use water sources more wisely.its not that we dont have enough water, its that we are not using it wisley enough
