  • I'd like to see the 1400 cutting drawer side slots for the drawer bottom eg. 1/4 x 1/4 on a 4 inch wide drawer side. It's easy with the big pieces, and very challenging with small pieces.

  • @bbish We'll do what we can to make that a reality. Thank you.

  • hi nice video I have the 1400 great machine what is the part number of the clip on base 5mm I believe you use to compensate for the thickness of the guide rail?

I have the micro guide stop but I like to run the router base fully on the face of the workpiece rather than half on/off the rail. Thanks!

Great question - I love this thing; I used the small bore base, (Festool hard fiber base runner). The part number is 492574 and I use it at my home-shop all the time. The part is in stock at my website - sells for $29.50. Good luck, and please let me know if you have any further questions or comments.

  • @toolsandmachinery great thanks for that i got the base runner 492574 a couple of weeks ago and its magnifique!

  • @theliquidgroove

Sounds good friend. It may take me a while to get that into the schedule - but we'll get it in there. Thanks so much for the feedback and for loving Festool. There is nothing else like one.

  • @toolsandmachinery Cool, yeah I thought you didn't use the template guide for that application (must have been edited in from another clip) I'd like to see a rabbet for a bookcase back & I'd like to see a dado that is fitted in with 3/4 birch ply (23/32). cut the dado & rabbet & fit the pieces together, as like a mock up built-in, to see how easy the festool router system is, in a real life situation. Reason I ask, because I am looking to buy the OF 1400 & want to see it in action!

  • @theliquidgroove

Hey! We (myself and the router) didn't actually use the 5m template guide, we only used the guide rail and the guide stop. So, yes, you can just use those. Let me know if you have any suggestions about improving this video, or if you'd like to see anything else done with the router. Any feedback is totally appreciated and I'll take any excuse to play with a festool! Thanks.

  • good video, fast presentation. Why did you use the 5m template guide for the dado? can you use just the guide rail & the edge guide?
