At a celebration of life in 2007, I overheard musicians talk about Gene Page, the man who arranged this beautiful song. One said that no one has done with music what Gene did. Listening to this song, I believe it.
In 1980, I had the pleasure of knowing Gene as a friend. I was a mere girl of twenty. As we talked, he reached into his desk drawer and handed me this album with his name on the back. I had the album at home, and thought it was the most lovely song I'd ever heard. RIP

Oh,wow,it has been an age since I last listened to this,& it still brought a lump to my throat.Sad old fart that I am,lol.There is no-one around today who will ever compare to Streisand.Not that there aren't some perfectly worthy vocalists around today.But not one of them has the magic of Streisand!
