Here's a project we recently worked on for BBC One. The TDA supplied much of the archive footage included in this special feature.

Marie Ashby looks back on 35 years of Radio Trent. The station was the 13th independent local radio station to go on the air in the UK back on July 3rd 1975. The station has now left the Nottingham airwaves forever as part of the merging of services between Trent, Leicester Sound and Derby's Ram FM to form Capital East Midlands.

What is the tune they play when they're talking about Graham Neale in 1985, I can remember when i was 9 & Graham Neale would stand in for John Peters on the local top 30 on sundays 12-2pm, Then in 1985 I remember what happened & seeing it on Central News..

Trent and GEM, were probably two of the best radio stations this country has ever had. There are too many radio stations around today, FULL STOP!!. all doing the same thing, playing the same records, breakfast and drive with the crew/team. Hell its boring. Not another high school days hour. 'It must be all of one day since someone played Top Loader 'Dancing In The Moon Light'. "OMG!! I havnt heard that for ages, that is really really so old".

After the closure of Trent FM, we wanted to tell you about the launch of trent.fm on 01 June 2011, it will re-capture the magic of Radio Trent from the 1980s and early 1990s and aims to bring local radio back to Nottingham, the capital's London and Trent is Nottingham! We are looking for programme ideas and any ex-Trent staff will be VERY welcome.

They should put Capital East Midlands in 106.0, Re Brand GEM 106 as Radio Trent & put it back on 96.2 & 102.8 & shut down Oak 107 & rebrand that as Leicester Sound on 105.4..

Thats the biggest mistake ever been made in local radio
