It's one of the core tools in tech comm (FrameMaker). The DITA and CMS sides are not used across the board, but Frame is. Check the Adobe site for info on it, or even on Wikipedia. Both have good info.

@ianmcgrady Best bet is to check some of the FrameMaker forums. I do have clients who do exactly this, so it can be done, but I don't want to speak to specific issues that may exist. I'm not a Mac expert.

Framemaker 9 is not available on mac..! :)
