Meening it would be cool to see this kind of music in its right place, the battle field.

The Mehter Band is the grandfather of the modern Western Military Band. These bands were all the rage in Europe in the late 1700s. Their percussian, horns, Jingling Johnneys and bass drum were exciting. Military music was greatly influenced by it. British Guards bands almost immediately had black percussian players in their bands by the early 1800s. Mozart and Beethoven wrote in the style a la Turk. Great Tradition!
