@chaseme81871 it's quite complicated. a chopper, or a rotary fan with slots in it, has its slots repeatedly opened and closed by a stator, a stationary cage or slit next to the chopper. the faster the slots open and close, the higher the pitch and the more volume the siren has. some sirens are just speakers on poles, but this siren is mechanical.

It stinks that you have to get rid of it. It's a nice ThunderBolt :) So is just the blower AC three phase?

@vanamonde2 Ok it looks like a nice one, even. It runs good.

i do not understand how they make the actual sound. i do live in kansas and hear these all of the time ,but just dont understand where the sound and volume come from.

Sounds good. I was waiting for it to fall over, that tings bouncy as hell lol. Is this the first time you've ran it using the solenoids? One of mine was like that but after running it for a while it has quieted down
Ok, in the description you say the timer has no fire cam. Then how was it doing hi lo?

@NicksGarageDoor The AF timer is turning on the RCM3, the RCM3 is turning on the RCM1.
With the fire cam removed it will do a 3 minute Alert Hi-Lo signal.

Paint that poor thing.

@joewars66 No way. I've painted enough of these stupid things. I only do it now if I absolutely have to.
