The Gewehr 43 I own was also manufactured by Berlin Luebecker, and tbh its in the same state as yours is. How I got the rifle? Bought it from my uncle for a mere €20

Absolutely Beautiful. I think the older, less varnished wood give it an amazing character all to itself

Do you have a Soviet SVT-40? those are pretty cool too. BTW, Great find on this rifle. I want to start a historical firearms collection. Preferably those from the first and second world war.

this looks like it has lost the original finish, and the original blueing. Are you going to replace it or keep it original?

@Mauser2012 I'm going to keep it the way it is - will probably pick up another G43 if the opportunity presents itself.

they were not as reliable as the garand, the firing pin was weak and prone to breaking, but they were more accurate and the magazine system was a better idea and greater capacity. also the left hand bolt design, like the mp 40 and stg 44 was superior.

@fesbahn Agreed, still even with their flaws I find this an intriguing rifle. Still like my Garands better but this is probably my favorite WWII German rifle.
