Also if you watch the video.. you are told about a man in the audience who collapsed just before this. He was taken out of the Theater and the Audience had no idea if he would be OK or not. So they decided to play this song in the interim to bring the audience back into the music. How powerful seeing in person how fragile life is and then hearing this version.

I'm amazed by the beauty of this song and the soulful playing....

The counting is for the tempo for all of the other orchestra that is trying to follow the four up front who have the tempo and rythem memorized, play an instrument in an orchestra then you can maybe come up with a valid opinion

Did you see how he had to count it off?...Divine Indigenous Soul connection has no need for such 'Machine' ical ways.

Sting is ok,but Yo-Yo Ma is something else. He is music itself!

awesome. the only fail is the 123 counting.. XD of all the things you can do beautifully, why do you have to do that?

How could this video have a dislike... The most beautiful version of Fragile ever played by 4 very, very talented, soulful musicians. What a beauty. <3
Sting is playing an archlute or theorbo. Basically a bass lute. From country to country there were slight variations, but that's what it is.

@spielbass Thank you very much. I'm quite sure it is theorbo.

@owenreyes Well... When I was watching the Intro of "In Boston" DVD I saw sting playing this strange string instrument. I didn't see him with it during that concert so I started searching. I didn't find it in internet so I looked up in "Behind the Scenes" and there it was! It's the best version of Fragile ever played! It's not a rare video. I think people don't watch "Behind the scenes" because they don't like talking heads (the interview was quite boring) or are too lazy to share it!
