The heavy riffs sound more like rage against the machine to me or something tom morello wrote.

good to have the subways back, but fuck it, i hate it when people think nirvana invented heavy riffs! they borrowed heavily from everyone themselves and were in NO WAY original. a half decent grunge band at best.sorry to all you coffin chasers out there but its the truth. subways much more fun!

i think the heavy riff sounds more like bombtrack by ratm than nirvanas mr. moustache.
but i still fuckin love this track!
