@MrSmallwoa I have not had used a Trendnet AP but it could be possible. From the SonicWALL's perspective the AP will just be another routing device on the network so it should be fine. But remember that the SonicWALL cannot manage that AP so you will now have to manage the access on the AP and build policies in the SonicWALL for each device you add. Additionally, you give up the access control and bridging option features that you would have if you went with the SonicPoint AP.
@firewallsDotCom Can I use a different manufacture's Access Point with a Sonicwall appliance? for instance I would like to use a Trendnet AP with the Sonicwall TZ200.
@MrSmallwoa What you want to setup is called Wireless Guest Services. In short, you need to create a VLAN, add an interface to the WLAN zone, and then setup a virtual access point. It is a rather elaborate setup but those are the main items you need to hit.
How do I add an Access Point to my TZ200 wireless router where I want to add a public accesspoint that is unsecured for public use while separating it from my secure LAN traffic. I want to be able to establish a VLAN on one of the access ports so the two networks don't "see" each other at all.
