Life changing journey from London to The Gambia and back by bike. 7,800 miles. 2 broken ribs and a twisted ankle. I think I should stick to racing on the track or road.

  • BMW GS Adventure

The Best bike for round the world Adventure - nothing comes close - sure there are bikes lighter - faster - more bhp - but for true adventure riding in comfort - nothing comes close - end of ...... :-)

  • If you buy into that hype, sure. They are overpriced, overweight. Less about the bike, more about the trip/rider.

  • @skater1on1 ......too true - expensive - especially when you start to add the bits!!!! Heavy? - For sure - old tech ... The trip was awesome, you can do that - as most did on a 650 no problem ... and more fun when it got tough .... I would given the chance and the money to do it again and again .... we have all got at least one of these rides in us .... do it!

  • AWESOME!! Must have been very fun trip, pics are everything I was hoping to find on here.. Would love to plan the same. We have ridden in several 250 -1k races here in the U.S. and Mexico.. looking for a street legal two wheeler to take through 7800 mile -epic adventure. Probably a 650, looking at a Harley new off road model.

  • i just added the dakar to my bucket list

  • @NomadGSA

Sorry to say that, but you can ride there with every bike with right wheels and height. It must be stable only without any electronic shit. Meanwhile i would prefer the older bikes for this. The newer the more filigree the bikes are.

  • @millerboys2006 I was thinking about the same trip true the desert. I know somebody did it with car.
