Supported by the Clinical and Health Services Research Core at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA) at Yale University. As in nearly all other domains, the use of electronic media, such as social networking tools, video games, mobile devices, and the Internet, is changing the way people learn about health and health care. To stay relevant, health professionals must increasingly employ electronic media to inform health consumers, conduct research and influence health behavior. The purpose of this conference was to survey ways in which electronic media are being used in health research and practice to inform future research and educational efforts.
