@vvffhhjj Thanks for your answer, 50km seems a bit low, but on the other hand- i`m only using the car for local transport. 75km driving range is even more than i need. Well... i dont have a garage to work in right now so that old heap still has to run with gas engine for a while. Thanks again! Lars

@vvffhhjj 5.3 kW is a bit tiny, but it works.

hey there! nice job you've done... I really wonder how much did it cost you for the conversion?

A fine work done on this car. I have an VW beetle that i´m interested to convert to electric. I found an 5,3 kW Toyota truck motor but someone told me that i`ll need at least 8-10 kW? Do you have some information about top speed, battery capacity and driving range? Thanks! Lars

@vvffhhjj Hi there, Lars. Sorry for late answer. Did they mention that given registration? Top speed is about 65 km/h. If the average speed is 50 km/h, in theory the driving range should be about 100km. But in terms of heat loss in cables i.e., a driving range about 75 km with an average speed at 50 km/h is more realistic. Hope this helps.
