Born in Chihuahua in 1896, David Alfaro Siqueiros was a muralist and a Stalinist who even joined in unsuccessfully in an assassination attempt on Leon Trotsky in 1940. Though he is considered one of "the Big Three" Mexican muralists, his painting time was often interrupted by his political acts, followed by jail or exile from Mexico. He died in 1974 in Cuernavaca. Music is "Pavane, Op. 50," by Gabriel Faure.
