  • This is why I find the claims of the bible to be untenable.

I gave being a christian all that was in me for eight years. There eventually came a time when I have to face the real truth...I hope this sad event brings a few thoughtful and intelligent folks around to seeing reality.

I'm sure it will probably just drive most believers even deeper into the delusion....that really is the biggest tragity of all.

  • Billy,

I just want you to know I am sorry... I am not sure what all happened in your life but I seriously am interested in hearing your WHOLE story... You can email me or I can give you my cell #... I am sorry for anytime people from "church" have hurt you or put you down!

  • i went to hillsong. I heard this guy's dad speak at our college and I was touched by his speaking. I think you're right, its not just this one guy but the whole church in general that has a problem. While I was at Hillsong, there existed this strong pressure to be on stage and be noticed. They even had the term "rising pastors" for those succeeding. a bunch of bullshit. faith in a man rather than in a God.

  • I truly respect Pastor Brian and Hillsong Church. I am sure he would tell you that no place, no not even church, is perfect because we aren't perfect. Faith in God empowers me to have faith in people pursuing God and allows me to not judge or take the place of God in their lives. Thanks for your comment.

  • @pierced24punk He should have had a "miracle" cure done by Benny Hinn and pulled off one of the best scams in modern christianity.

  • @justpaul62 You are so right. Although you would consider me be to a Christian, we shouldn't trust Christians. Trust God.

  • @billybee53 The fact that you said that you gave it all you had for eight years, means that you really didn't give it all you had. If you gave it all your had you will still be giving it. After eight years, you stopped believing. We all have reasons to stop believing, at any time. However, I have lived life without believing and I lived life believing. A life believing God is much better to me. I hope it well be to others.

  • The thing that I have learned (again) is never trust christians.

  • Dude, the pornography thing was just a cover-up to place the blame full on the pastor's character and to focus away attention from the church preached/sang at. It's an absolute disgrace. And as you say, this is just another in a long line of religious frauds. But watch the videos, people are still going to his church! I mean, won't they ever learn? Yep, people should believe whatever they like, but we should not allow them to be ripped off continuously by religious organizations and rackets.

  • btw...I could say the same thing to you.

IF you take God out of the equation...it all makes a hell of a lot more sense.

  • "...if you place God in the equation..."

wow, that is one whale of a big "if '", my friend.

  • I'm aware this question isn't directed at me, rather at the maker of this video.

However, I would agree with you, many things in the bible are naturally impossible, however, and I'm sure you can see this coming, if you place God in the equation, then things that are naturally impossible for us are possible for him, and therefore, happened. Or at the very least, such things are possible.

  • And when the day is done its not "GOD why did this happen" its 'GOD what do you want me to do now".

  • Its because for so long the church has ignored the fact that we really have these issues in our churches. People really do sin and not just in there past but on a daily basis. We preach it, teach it, live it, but we never real acknowledge it. For so long people have been scared to tell the church what there real issue is because of the response we as christians give. It comes down to really rather your a pastor laymen or a guy on the street " when u wake up who are you gonna live for that day"
