ALL THE SHELBY STATS @ INSIDELINE.COM:
http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightline/2009/06/defying-dyno-expectations-in-th...

Do something enough times and patterns become apparent. Dyno testing is no exception.

For example, supercharged cars usually produce their best dyno result within the first few pulls. Heat soak tends to quickly get the best of the intercooler circuit and erode the engine's output. Once this happens, we call it quits and review the data to select the run that represents the car's stabilized output.

Not so with the 2010 Shelby GT500. With each pull on MD Automotive's Dynojet chassis dyno in Westminster, CA, we witnessed the power from the supercharged 5.4-liter V8 creep up further and further. Five, six runs in and the power was still climbing.

Finally, upon the seventh run, the output of our color-coordinating GT500 stabilized. And we saw that it was good.

This new Shelby appears to have the thermal capacity of an industrial meat locker. That, and Gary and Jeff deserve a high-five for their efforts.

  • is the torque curve the derivative of the power curve?

  • And sounds so much better than the New Camaros

  • I've seen better......

  • @novicharged306 sure but if you take a mustang gt and give it a twin turbo thats what this is. and if you take an evo and put in a twin turbo its the same thing. so in essence, this isnt even really stock, its like a reproduction.

  • Nice pull and typical for a stock 2010 GT500, those stating its inflated are wrong, case closed. With a 2.59in. pulley, better CAI and solid tune these cars can lay down 560+ rwhp and same for torque, my 2010 with the aforementioned laid down 566rwhp and 564 rwtq, on a mustang dyno no less. The 2010's have additional upgrades over the previous generation, most significantly a larger dual clutch set up and revised suspension. With mods these cars are absolute beasts!

  • I'm sure the dyno places are thrilled when they get a powerful motor in. Imagine running a million Hondas who's owners "need their numbers" so they can show off to their friends. And then a beauty like this shows up. I'm talking about the regular shops, might not pertain to this one.

  • @LMBC6Brian wow you are really a stupid fuck so now a 07-09 will put the same HP as a 2010 gt500? You don't own a gt500 and if you do you should get rid of it!

  • @LMBC6Brian lmao the KR had a different setup than the 07-09 GT500, sure same base block, same blower, however you have the less restrictive exhaust and intake with an agressive engine tune, same as the 2010s, literally every single tester got the same results with a cold engine, there were even a couple at the speed shop i got my turbos done that were running between 500-520rwhp on cold engines, and 07 GT500 makes roughly 450rwhp, the KR will lay down anywhere from 480-510rwhp

  • @ADD8oi biggest bunch of bullshit. There is no such thing as a "KR" drive train. The KR had a factory CAI, slightly different tune and different mufflers. There is no difference here. Again, this car with the same mods will be the same as an 07 GT500. The other difference I forgot were knock sensors on the new car. Otherwise, its the same, and these numbers are so inflated it sick.

  • @LMBC6Brian youre the moron, theyre using the KR drivetrain which is a slightly more agressive tune, less restrictive exhaust and an intake, these "fake" magazine ones are done on a cold engine, with a hot engine youre looking at around 480rwhp, pulley, full intake and exhaust and these cars have done high 500rwhp.....cmon mate, the proof is right there in the video
