@eucalyptuspauciflora I've just very seldom seen a conductor being part of the stage play ;) maybe in details as single spoken words, but not an triumphant entree like this. As for my experience the musicians are either in the pit or on stage. But I've never come across a pit staff playing a stage role. And having been directed: In this case I'll -of course- have to eat my own words of the "flamboyant git".
And the way of playing this great opus is really lovely :)
give it up for dumbledore on the drums, ladies and gentlemen!

@Arithmos90 Ovviamente no. Mantova è in italia, e in italia si esegue l'Orfeo unicamente quando tutti i pianeti del sistema solare sono allineati. Qui siamo al Gran Teatre de Lyceu a Barcellona.
