James Brown and The Famous Flames "Think" is a rhythm and blues song written by Lowman Pauling and originally recorded by his group The "5" Royales. Released as a single on King Records in 1957, it was a national hit and reached number nine on the U.S. R&B chart by James Brown & The Famous Flames.
The heavy "Think" version here covered by 95DOODs (Lyon-France) were recorded Live in a studio demo session, late 1995.
96DOODs : Robert Lapassade on vocal, Norbert Pastor and Fabrice Reno on guitars, Hervé Korcos on bass, Noël Kay on drums.

  • I am James Brown's biggest fan but he didn't write 'Think'. His version was a cover of the 5 Royales song.

  • Lowman Pauling and the 5 Royals were inducted into the NC Hall of Fame recently.

    Others have recorded this as well. James Brown may have been the God Father of Soul but The 5 Royals were the ForeFathers of Soul! James Brown would pattern himself after The 5 Royals. Great Tune. Different than the DooWop sounds I am use to from Lowman.
