I'd love to see GPs response on this one, they are using technology to critique technology and creating anti marketing marketing campaigns on the internet. Yet none of the millions of dollars Greenpeace harvest each year is spent in the design and distribution of open source alternative designs and supply chain architecture!

I bet you ALL computer companies use minute quantities of those "dangerous substances" - why single Apple out ? Why not Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc ?

You're wrong. I'm from computer industry and I can tell you all this stuff inside any electronic device has rarely much in common with green. Not to mention how it is produced in China and India.

Computers are pretty green compared to the things you take for granted during your daily tasks. Stop annoying these people with stuff like this in an effort to make you look knowledgeable and care about something, and actually get something done like what westin suggested, or would your ideals become not so ideal?
