This is a 2002 bmw convertible m2
I was wondering where the heating strips were located when I turned on the heated seats. Oddly enough most of the heat is in leg portion of the seat. And only 2 strips in the back. Most interesting during this test is when I found that I had heated mirrors and they were ALWAYS on. What a waste of power. Bmw could have connected the heated mirror with another cold weather feature but nope. Always on! Real handy in Florida.

  • I'm pretty sure the majority of heat you see is because of the heater wires being under less material in the leg portion of the seat. I used to install heated seats and pulled a few factory Beamers apart to install new after old ones burned out. You just got more cushion on the bottom and back.

  • I love my 328i. Only mod is a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. They run around $170 and add up to 9HP in the E46 323/325/328 and up to 13.9HP in the 330. That's about $17/per extra HP... A good value for the extra oomph. General HP increases are shown:

    E30 series: 6.0-13.4hp gain

    E36 series: 5.5-12hp gain

    E46 series: 6.0-13.9hp gain

    E92 series: 8.5+ hp gain

    Z3/Z4 (all): 5.5-13.9hp gain
