We believe about 9000 people were taking part in this 62 mile ride.

  • 1 bus driver disliked this. :D

  • @CyclingMikey Ha, ha. Or it could be one of the drivers that got caught up in it.

  • That's the sort of ratio of bikes to cars I like. :-)

  • @yangtse55 Indeed. It's great to be able to ride two abreast with no stress at all!

  • Who did you do it with because SkyRide normally have rides like that at this time of year?

  • @monkeysnutscom It's the annual Manchester-to-Blackpool ride (62 miles) in aid of the Christie Cancer Hospital and various other charities. It's a Christie event organized by Bike-Events, and a jolly good time was had by all.

  • What a great day! I loved it. What time did you complete it in? I managed to do a steady 3hr 35min! I looked out for head cam guys, but couldn't see any. What time did you start?

  • Do you think that one person accidentally pressed the dislike button?

  • Brill! Sounds like a top ride!

  • @MrGrumpycyclist Ah right. There are multiple charity rides near me as well throughout the year. I am actually trying to organise one for Action For Children.

Bike rides are probably the most popular ways of fundraising with most charities as they are easy to organise.
