Countdown, 1980. The final line-up that recorded the Hot For The Orient album from which this unsuccessful single is taken, before various reformations of the hit line-up in later years. Tony Williams on lead vocals, Bob Spencer on guitar. No idea who the guy dancing around is!

  • Dangerous to bring out a song with boring in the title. Never give them a hook to hang theor hat on boys!

  • Let's face it, Shirl was Skyhooks..Greg wrote the songs, Red was Australia's version of a Kiss hero. Tony Williams did a fantastic job after Shirl left.. Bob Spencer should be given a MEDAL for taking Red's place in the band. Women in Uniform was their biggest ever selling single.. 1978 was their hottest touring year without Red

  • fantastico! I'm an old 'Hooks fan from way back, still got my scrappies but I have to admit I gave up on the guys when this album came out ... I remember Bob sang a reggae style song; "Keep the junk in America" but other than that I was unimpressed. That was way back then but upon hearing/seeing this clip I'm interested to give the LP a fresh set of ears ... might be good now I'm older and have better ears. I notice that since Red had left it seems that Bongo has pulled out all the brakes.

  • awwww memories!!!

  • @staffy58

Which Bob are you talking about?? Bob Starkie or Bob Spencer? They were both however unqiue in their own way

  • I love Bob Starkie he is a crazy bloke when he wants to be... man he's cute lol

  • there was far worse released around that era, the boys could've gotten away with a few hits if they'd gone with a different band name, I think they suffered with the fact that Skyhooks was too synonymous with the Shirley Strachan image. not a bad early 80s pop song, Greg MacAinsh was a brilliant song writer.

  • Go Bob you axe playing legend ! love to see you play again. Can anyone tell me some dates?

  • This wasn't bad. I would've like to see another Skyhooks record from this line up.

  • Underrated
