Hey there are you ready to dance the night away and get your groove on. Well, let's continue our look at fun and exciting events for fall and Halloween. Between Friday October 8 and Sunday October 10, 2010, The St. Charles 25th Annual Scarecrow Festival was taking place of course in St. Charles, Illinois. As it names indicates The St. Charles Scarecrow Festival is a celebration of Scarecrows of every size, shape and type. Civic organizations, Charitable, organizations, businesses and members of the community all decorated Scarecrows. There were traditional scarecrows and not so traditional scarecrows. You could find just about anything made into a scarecrow, even things you would never think of, when you think of scarecrows.

Just don't know what you will find. Of course my life is now in complete balance and harmony after seeing a Twilight Scarecrow Scene!!!

That was the cool thing about this festival, that you can really let your imagination run wild at an event like this. All the scarecrows of course were judged in several categories and prizes awarded to the best of each category. Categories included Childrens, St. Charles Business, Area business, Mechanical, Traditional, Family and Whimsical. Besides scarecrows, there was a huge amount of non-scarecrow activities. Included was a huge carnival, featuring both fun and exciting rides as well as games, as well as section for organizations, and businesses. There was also a build your scarecrow area, if you needed to get one constructed in a jiffy. There was also a model train exhibit, featuring dozens of workable train exhibits that kids themselves could work. There was also a cute little petting zoo, with a whole mess of cute and cuddlies, and of course many food vendors offering a wide variety of yummy treats. There was plenty of entertainment, including bands and of course gotta have R Gang. So a fun time was had by all.
